BOHOL: A Wonder Island
The island of Bohol, more popularly known for its Chocolate
Hills, so named because of their brown color during the dry
hot summer months. These hills numbering 1,726 is one of
the major tourist destinations. Among the thousands of
perfectly cone-shaped hills which abound the Central Bohol,
two of the hills have been developed into a resort. On top of
the second hill is an observation deck with 213 steps. Once on top, one can view the exquisite panorama of God's wondrous
creations spread below as far as the eye can see.
Mention of Bohol nowadays, the phrase "scuba
diving" in Balicasag island also comes
to mind. This island have the reputation
as one of the best scuba diving in the world.
It has a beautiful beach bounded by colored
coral flowers and rocks. The deep sea is
very clear and clean. In case you might
need some gear, the scuba shops are located
on Alona beach in Panglao island. Eastward
you will see a tiny island called Pamilacan
were once an ideal spot for whale and dolphin
watching.
Among the facinating activities here is
the quick view of the Tarsier in its natural
habitat. One of the rare faunas in Asia.
