BANAUE & SAGADA: Wonder of the World

Travel further and take in the grandeur of the rice terraces of Banaue, described as the Eighth Wonder of theWorld. Created more than 2,000 years ago by the Ifugao people using primitive tools and bare hands. The terraces rise 1,200 meters, like giant steps carved into the mountainside. Around it, fourteen kilometers east of Banaue Hotel is the village of Banga-an. From there, you can easily go to Batad village where you can get a magnificent sight of the beautifully contoured amphitheather of the rice terraces. You can also check the Tapplaya Waterfall in the area.

Another activity you will see is how the local people skillfully
weave their clothes the same way their ancestors did more
than a thousand years ago.

Your next exploration is Sagada's Sumaging Cave and a trip
to the ancestral way of burying the dead in the Hanging
Coffins.

We've got it all on postcards! Go!
